Loosen up, think on your feet…or else! The most important ability an actor can have is the power to make it up on the fly and in this four hour workshop you'll learn how to do just that!

Set and Prop Design* (June 21st 2008 - 10:00am-3:00pm):

Ever look at something and wonder "How'd they make that?!" Well if you have, then this is the workshop for you! Learn how the pro's plan and design sets and props from ancient temples to rusty cannons in this two hour workshop.

Carpentry† (June 28th 2008 - 10:00am-3:00pm):
Instructors: Alex Fulmor, Kris Roberts
Have fun learning how to make props and sets from rusty cannons to elaborate Spanish fortresses in this four hour workshop! Includes an introduction to shop tools and safety and some hands on action building some of the props and sets from the earlier design workshop.

Acting 2* (July 19th 2008 - 10:00am-3:00pm):
Instructors: Alex Fulmor, Kris Roberts, Jason Greeley, Magan Houle
Get acquainted with your darker side in this day-long workshop, delving into all things that make you creepy, scary and just plain terrifying. Learn the basics of character development, physicality, and how to talk like a monster! This is a great opportunity to get some couching on accents and to polish off that last beastly detail to your very own nightmare character.

Special Effects† (July 26th 2008 - 10:00am-12:00pm):
Instructors: Alex Fulmor, Justin
This workshop covers all the basics for simple animations and special effects. Learn how to make simple air cannons to a walking monstrosity in this two hour introduction.

Sound Editing† (July 26th 2008 - 1:00pm-3:00pm):
Instructors: Kyle Paradis, Jason Greeley
In this rare opportunity you get some first hand instruction on how to make and mix your very own sound effects. Now you can record that creaking door and mix in a little groaning wind and you have a recipe for fright. You also get hands on instruction on how we install our sound systems for some creepy ambiance.

Corpsing† (July 26th 2008 - 5:00pm-8:00pm):
Instructors: Kris Roberts
This is our most popular workshop. It's a hands-on opportunity to learn how to turn an ordinary store-bought skeleton into a realistic looking corpse using latex, cotton batting, cheese cloth, spider webbing, plastic wrap and paint. Sign up early because space is limited and be sure to wear work clothes (very important)!

Lighting* (August 2nd 2008 - 10:00am-12:00pm):
Instructors: Jason Greeley
Learn color theory and see demonstrations to create a particular mood in a scene, and get an introduction to basic lighting fixtures.

Costuming 1† (August 9th 2008 - 10:00am-3:00pm):
Instructors: Sarah Griswold, Michelle Greeley
Costume design for haunted houses is fun and challenging. You've got to make it durable, inexpensive and recognizable. Learn how to make period clothes and adapt modern designs to make horrifying fashions suitable for a ghoul.

Acting 3* (August 16th 2008 - 10:00am-3:00pm):

Now that you know how to think on your feet we'll put your characters to the test with some in depth scene development so when your best friend says "So this zombie, ghoul, and skeleton are sitting in a bar…" you'll know the punch line faster then you can say scene it!

Make-Up Effects 1† (August 23rd 2008 - 10:00am-12:00pm):

This is a fantastic opportunity to learn from the Scream at the Beach makeup expert as he demonstrates everything from airbrush makeup to advance foam appliance sculpting. Monsters to freaks, it's all here in this intro workshop. You may even be selected to be in one of the demonstrations!

Mask Making 1† (August 30th & 31st 2008 - 10:00am-3:00pm):
Instructors: Matt Huntley
This is a fantastic opportunity to learn from the Scream at the Beach makeup expert as he demonstrates everything from airbrush makeup to advance foam appliance sculpting. Monsters to freaks, it's all here in this intro workshop. You may even be selected to be in one of the demonstrations! There is a small fee if you want to take home your completed project.

Mask Making 2† (September 6th & 7th 2008 - 10:00am-3:00pm):

Expand on your terrifying talents in this two hour workshop. Help with some of the preparations of our wardrobe of fiendish fashions for our cast in preparation for opening night of Scream at the Beach.
