Absolutely! All activities are indoors or under cover. Actually rainy nights are some of the best nights to go because fewer people go out during inclement weather, meaning more one-on-one time with the monsters for you. Return to top
Can I buy Tickets Online in Advance?
We're doing things a bit differently this season. There will be no tickets. You simply pay as you enter the haunted house, so advance purchase of regular admission or VIP admission is not necessary. If you are in a hurry, VIP Admission allows you to enter the haunted attraction whenever you wish. Return to top
Is there a long wait to get in?
The time you spend in line varies depending on the day of the week and time of month that you come. Weekends are usually busier, especially the last two. Return to top

Can I take pictures?
Yes, by all means, bring your cameras! There are many opportunities for picture taking in front of funny photo opportunity backdrops and with our roaming monster characters. We only ask that you do not take pictures inside the attractions. The spirits do not react well to bright lights...it not only hurts their eyes, but ruins the experience for others and may cause damage to sensitive equipment used for security purposes. Return to top
Are there places where I can leave my coat, camera or umbrella?
We recommend that you leave any items you do not wish to carry in your car. Return to top
What are the busiest and least busy times of the day / season?
Naturally the weekends, especially near the end of the month are the busiest times. For the shortest lines we suggest you arrive early in the month or visit on a weeknight. And on the night you plan to scream with us, arrive at or soon after our opening time so you are one of the first in line. Return to top

Can we win free tickets?
Sign up to be a member of our Monster Fan Club. Every day in October that we are open someone who registers will win a family pack of tickets to all of our attractions (good for four people). You could be that winner! Winners are notified by email, and tickets can be picked up at the ticket counter. One entry per person please. Return to top
How long will it take me to experience Scream at the Beach?
The time you spend varies depending on the day of the week and time of month that you come. Weekends are usually busier, especially the last two. To tour the haunted attraction plan on at least 30 minutes, once you get inside. Add time to take pictures, visit with monster characters, eat, tour the Clown Chaos, visit our vendors and ride the historic carousel and you'll have enough activities to keep you busy screaming for the entire evening. Return to top
Do you offer foreign language assistance?
Yes. We have assistance available in many European and South American languages. Inquire by asking any of our hosts when you arrive. Return to top
How should I dress?
While our policy states that no actors/monsters will touch you, we cannot extend that guarantee when it comes to our array of flesh eating slugs, bats or ravenous rats. (Don't worry though, the rats don't eat much and the slug slime is nontoxic and does not stain clothes.) You may also get a little wet from the drooling monsters and people have been known to wet their own pants in these kinds of attractions. Therefore, we suggest that you wear comfortable clothing and shoes, and leave that expensive chiffon wedding outfit at home! Return to top
Do you have a lost and found?
Yes, we have to. With so many people jostling about to get away from the monsters, things just naturally go flying. We've tracked down and returned just about everything including sweaters, wallets, cell phones and jewelery. Please notify any of our security or guest relations hosts as soon as possible and they will make an immediate search for you. If you do not discover your loss until after you have left the event site, call 360-258-1782 for assistance. Return to top
I want to do a story on Scream at the Beach. Who do I call?
Call Henry Miller at 503-288-2037, or write to him at
. See also some of our online media resources. Return to top
Where can we meet Monster Characters?
The Monster Characters make frequent appearances throughout the Scream at the Beach event. For information on where to find specific characters, ask any of our costumed guest relations host or hostesses. Our monsters are happy to pose with you for pictures. Return to top
Is it scary?
YES! Our haunted attractions are some of the best you'll find anywhere and the actors take great pleasure in hearing you scream. Many guests do not make it to the end and wet pants are more common than you think. The detail and effects are top notch but still a haunted house will only be as scary as you want it to be. In other words go in with an attitude for fun and it will be. Return to top
Is it healthy to get scared?
Do you enjoy scary movies? Haunted attractions are just like the movies but here you are in the middle of the action. Yes, you will get scared, but in the end it's all fun and you'll come out screaming AND laughing at the same time (now that's scary)! Most everyone enjoys talking about their experience, recounting stories of how high so-and-so jumped, and who lost their shoes in the frenzy to escape the monsters. Return to top
Are the attractions the same each year?
This is our eleventh year, and we have not had an exact duplicate attraction yet. Similar popular themes may reappear, but the attractions are always redesigned and rebuilt with new features and surprises, so it's always new, even to our repeat guests. Return to top
What if I have health problems (e.g. heart, asthma, etc), am pregnant, on medication or have been drinking/using drugs?
We advise discretion. We use artificial fog that may cause a reaction to asthmatics that are sensitive to this environment. The scares inside will raise your heart rate and blood pressure, and we use strobe lights which may trigger an epileptic response to those prone to seizure.
If you are intoxicated, we will not allow you to enter for your own safety and ours. If we believe you are under the influence of drugs, we may not allow you to enter until a later date when you are in better condition. And if you feel the need to challenge our decision, a police officer will be made available to assist you. Return to top
Can we be injured at your event?
We've never had any reports of serious injuries at our event. Our monsters are always on the prowl to keep things safe for you. Fire extinguishers are located at every emergency exit, along with an overhead sprinkler system and emergency lighting. All Guest Services personnel have radios and can call 911 if needed. As you tour our attractions you will find an emergency exit and hallway that leads with signs to the exterior of the attraction about every 50 feet. We also work with our local fire marshal, and comply with safety design requirements. The occasional bumps on the head that occur are most often caused by guests running into other members of their own group as they scream and duck to avoid the attacking monsters. Return to top
Does your event have security?
Our event has a fully trained, licensed Security and Guest Services staff that helps to keep things running smoothly. We seldom, if ever, have a problem that actually requires security but we have our team just in case. They spend most of their time serving as hosts to make your visit more pleasant. Return to top
Will the actors touch us?
Not intentionally. Our actors are trained not to touch any guest for any reason inside the haunts. They will try to make you scream and squirm, but you will not be touched by any monsters on purpose. The exception to this is when we are asked to pose with you for pictures outside the attractions where it's common to put arms around shoulders. Return to top
What if I arrive too late to see all the attractions and shows?
Our monsters can only feed for so long, so be sure to arrive early if you want to see everything in one evening, or return on another night for more scary fun. Return to top
Can I wear costumes or masks?
Costumes are encouraged, but masks are not allowed for the safety of our monsters and guests. See our Costume Guidelines for complete details. Return to top
Ok, I could not make it through. It was too scary! Do I get my $$ back?
No. If you get "too" scared and can't make it through then we have accomplished our goal to scare you. That's precisely why you paid the admission in the first place, so no refunds are provided for this reason. Return to top
Can I be evicted from the event?
YES! Scream at the Beach is designed to be a positive, safe, fun place. We do not permit inappropriate language or behavior, weapons of any kind, alcohol, etc. These guidelines are for your own safety. Persons who are asked to leave for inappropriate conduct do not receive a refund. Return to top
Can I buy beer there?
No alcohol of any kind is allowed on site.
Can I attend intoxicated or under the influence of drugs?
Anyone who is under the influence of ANYTHING will be asked to leave, and invited to return when they are better prepared to participate. This is for your own safety as well as the safety of other guests. Keep in mind that if you buy tickets and then are asked to leave for any reason, including being intoxicated or on drugs, you will not receive a refund.
Can I bring my children to Scream at the Beach?
While startling surprises occur throughout these adventures, Scream at the Beach lacks the usual overabundance of gore associated with many haunted attractions, providing a quality experience instead of shock and gore to entertain. Use your own discretion if you choose to allow your children to enter. If you want to bring younger children to Scream at the Beach, be sure your child knows the difference between fantasy and reality. All children (and adults!) have different "scare" tolerances, and you know your child best. Keep in mind this is SCARY entertainment! Return to top
Are there discounts for children?
We provide the same quality experience for all guests, therefore the price is the same for all ages. Under age 6 is free (but we don't recommend it). Our haunted attractions are designed to be intense thrilling experiences and are not recommended for impressionable or sensitive children. Return to top
What about lost children?
We've never lost a child to a monster...yet. But it's possible to get separated with so many people and exciting distractions around. Our Security and Guest Services hosts will be happy to assist you in tracking down lost children (and parents!). Return to top
Are there special activities for children?
For especially sensitive children (and some adults!), Scream at the Beach offers:
- Face Painter Station
- Rides on the Historic Carousel
- and not-so-scary characters who will pose for group photos and interact with children.
Where can we find information for Guests with disabilities?
All of our attractions, shows, queue lines, and restrooms are wheelchair accessible. Contact any one of our helpful hosts for additional information or if you would like an escort through our haunted attraction. Close-in parking is available for the disabled. Return to top
