Summertime Fun in June & July
Informal sessions in June & July gave us some hands-on learning while we prepared for the upcoming new attractions.
Making Props & Puppets
- Egyptian Theme Props for the Curse of the Mummy in 3-D Tour.
We learned foam prop construction including: sculpting, hard coating and faux paint finishes.
- Puppet Guides and Assorted Creatures.
Latex mask and prop making included: clay sculpting, mold making, casting and painting.
Pictured at left is a completed bat looking down on a few of his "clones." To the right we see the nearly completed figures that will act as tour guides for the Little Screamer's Tours. (Click on pictures to view full size versions)
July found us enjoying Saturday work sessions where we painted, built, fireproofed, textured, assembled and added details to a variety of murals, flats, props, costumes and special effects. Every weekend our group of volunteer monters met at the haunt to learn a variety of techniques for haunting while sharing lots of stories and experiences from past years. It was as much social as educational, and very appreciated by our participants.
