When it comes to scary castles and dark swamps filled with hideous creatures, you can never open it too soon. Fans are stopping by daily at the Jantzen Beach Super Center to view the receintly discovered ruins of the ancient castle which opened with a ceremony Friday, July 27th at noon. On cue, onlookers counted down from ten to zero and then screamed as loud as they could (turning a few heads in the mall), as a large tarp was lowered to reveal the front of the castle.
Ooohs and ahhs followed, and noses pressed against the glass windows to peer into the dense vegetation. Hidden among the tangled vines and bubbling bogs were bugs, snakes, frogs, and lizards, while perched on branches overhead were owls. Burning torches mounted to large carved skulls flanked the entrance into the castle, watched over by two large black crows. The view through the open doorway revealed a passage stacked with old barrels, trunks and cauldrons that disappeared into the shadows.
What lies beyond that passage? What terrors await the daring? We'll have to wait until October 13th to find out.
