Seal in Portal Room Breeched

Lots of people are stopping by the castle, asking questions and basically chomping at the bit, anxious to get a peek inside the castle. As a result, our monsters are practically out of control. They can't wait to sink their teeth into some juicy legs and arms. Two of our excavation team members had to restrain one last week as it tried to escape out into the mall, chasing after a couple of teenagers who looked especially delicious to it. We recommend that you spray on monsteriffic repellant before entering the castle if you wish to remain untouched by these beasts.

Some good news we have is that our crew has finally broken through the seal covering the entrance in the Portal Room, and have discovered a realm of complete darkness. The ancient book we found last month in the Wizard's Chamber speaks of a place called the Underworld. We think this dark region may be what the book is referring to. The survey team has not yet finished charting the Underworld, since it appears to be endless, but they have made some interesting discoveries. One is the abundance of Flesh-eating Slugs that live there. These ugly slugs grow to over 12" in length and can be as thick as a human arm. When touched, they secrete a slimy goo that softens flesh so it is easier for them to digest, and then they flip over to sink their fangs into their prey. Luckily for our survey team, they are somewhat slow, so they have been able to pull their hands away before being bitten. It makes it difficult though, to find their way through the darkness, when they can't feel their way along the walls, for fear of encountering a Flesh-eating Slug.

The Underworld may be our biggest challenge yet in our discovery process. No light can penetrate the darkness—it is completely absorbed by the dark mists. Wind swirls constantly, and horrific creatures lurk about in search of prey. We have had trouble convincing our survey team members to continue their work, and may not be finished by opening day next week. We may have to rely on the discoveries of our guests (that would be you) to report their findings in the Underworld (if you survive, that is).
