Yes! It's Scary! But...
While startling surprises occur throughout these adventures, Scream at the Beach lacks the usual gore associated with many haunted attractions, providing a quality experience instead of shock to entertain. We are often compared to a Disney experience. You won't find satanic references, depictions of violence, or inappropriate adult language or content. Therefore Scream at the Beach is appropriate for every age level IF you appreciate and enjoy scary entertainment. Some children do not.
However, we do not set age limits for our event. We leave these decisions to parents. All children (and adults!) have different "scare" tolerances, and you know your child best. Use your own discretion if you choose to allow your children to enter, and make sure they know the difference between fantasy and reality.
Helpful Tips:
- Tell them to scream really loud and that will help to scare away the monsters.
- Assure them that this is just for fun; that no one will touch or harm them.
- Share that Halloween is a traditional time for costume parties and visits to haunted houses, and that it's all in the spirit of having fun.
- Keep in mind that there are exits approximately every 50' and that our monsters will be happy to help you find the nearest exit if your child decides it is "time to go NOW!"
- If your child seems apprehensive about entering the haunted house, take them to meet one or more of the Halloween Town residents. If they do well meeting a monster, you will probably be safe taking them into the haunted house. If they react negatively, take them instead to some of the other activities designed for the younger "Little Screamers."
- Switch Off: take turns enjoying the haunted house while someone keeps an eye on Junior.
- Hire a babysitter, if necessary, and leave the kids at home, safe from all those hideous monsters.
- DO NOT belittle or shame your child if they refuse to enterunless, of course, you want to pay for years of therapy in the future. Not everyone finds scary entertainment to be a positive experience, and there's nothing wrong with that.
Our goal is to entertain, not terrorize, so we train our actors to keep an eye out for someone who is having an especially difficult time and to back off in these instances. We even break character to assist when needed. Your safety is our highest priority!
