Clark County Fair Feature Exhibit Closes to Rave Reviews

Humanity has been saved once again, but by what? Some small bacteria, like in The War of the Worlds? Music, like in When Mars Attacks? Or a computer virus ala Independence Day? We may never know. But for whatever reason, the ships have left the planet and we humans can breathe a collective sigh of relief.

For 10 days the screams of the willing alien's victims filled the Clark County Fair's Feature Exhibit Hall, thanks to the efforts of the crew and cast of Scream at the Beach, the northwest's largest Halloween event. They brought to life a small midwestern town complete with animated aliens, a Transporter, interactive alien technology, and a frightening walk-through space ship exhibit where the aliens seemed a little too anxious to have the humans over "for dinner."

Outside the ship, aliens posed with humans for pictures when they were not popping out of hiding places all over town, covertly observing their intended victims. Observant parents gleefully sent their children to dispose of trash into trash cans, and then laughed as their children screamed and ran away as an alien inside jumped up, surprising their kids. They also popped up over tops to walls, roof tops, hid inside laundry, or scooted around in black "pods" in an unsuccessful attempt to secretly follow humans which resulted in hysterical laughter.

Several aluminum foil capped protesters warned of the dangers these new arrivals represented, while others welcomed our new overlords. Scientists and a few Men and Women in Black also made an appearance, facilitating the interactions between the two species.

Guest comments from those who made it thorough the space ship tour alive were very flattering, to say the least, ranging from "Awesome! I peed my pants!" to "Great job—better than last year!" (See more comments below) Needless to say, this came as welcome feedback to the actors and producers who spent many weeks leading up to the fair to create this elaborate display.

"We are very pleased with the reactions and feedback we have received," said Henry Miller, Producer of the show. Along with a team of four skilled animators, artists and "the hardest workers this side of Pluto," they dreamed up this latest people-pleaser (their fourth year at the fair) with plans to return in 2011 with an even more elaborate display.

For now, the dust has settled, the halls have returned to their former state of quiet, and peace has returned to Earth...for now.

I hate it when people jump in front of me on any day, and they were all over me like jumping beans! It gets cha! I think I'm dying! OMG! I was scared. That was f'n awesome! Awesome! I peed my pants.
